  • Choose "Set Up as New Apple Watch" from the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.

  • Determine which wrist you prefer to use (left or right). Additionally, you'll be prompted to choose which side you want the digital crown to belong to.

  • Set up Emergency SOS and Apple Pay (optional). While Emergency SOS, a new feature in watchOS 3, allows you to call emergency services and send an alert to specific contacts, Apple Pay enables you to use your watch to make mobile payments. You can skip this step and configure these services at a later time.

Final thought

We have introduced a step-by-step guide on how to set up your Apple Watch in the article above.

But here’s a quick summary of the most important steps: Make sure you are using the latest version of watchOS. If you’re not, then update it. This is required before you can proceed further. Go to the ‘General’ section of the settings app and tap on ‘Restrictions’. Tap on ‘Allow’ to allow the Apple Watch to use the cellular network. This step is optional if you already have an iPhone with the ‘Allow Cellular Data’ switch turned on.
